ZAO

The vision of ZAO is to confront the waterborne disease crisis until it has been eliminated from the earth - transforming communities throughout the developing world from places of death and disease to places of life and hope.

ZAO confronts the water crisis on four fronts:

Water

Water is the main front we fight on.  Most communities in Africa are near water, but it is either contaminated or under ground.  Providing clean drinking water turns communities struggling with sickness, disease and death into ones of abundant life.  To date, ZAO has completed 60 water sources in Kenya and Tanzania.

Solar Technology

Many people in Africa do not have access to firewood or fuel for cooking.  However, one natural resource that is readily available is the sun.  In 2008, ZAO began distributing solar cookers to people in East Africa.  With each cooker we provide a basic training on the use of solar technology.

Hope

In addition to providing natural resources it is our vision at ZAO to offer spiritual hope to the people in the areas where we work.  To this end, we speak in local churches and minister in the communities whenever possible.

Education

In many countries, the lack of basic hygiene practices like hand washing often leads to fatal infection or disease.  Thousands of children die every day of preventable diseases because they and others in their community have not been trained in the simple methods of breaking disease pathways.
