Church Picnic Sizzles With Fun!

More than 450 people joined us for the Bethel Cleveland Joint-Campus summer picnic in Strongsville Metroparks at the Chalet on June 27. Members and guests from both the Middleburg Hts. and Brunswick campuses attended. The sounds of laughter, talking and Christian music filled the air in the park.

The day was extremely hot with temperatures reaching 90 plus degrees. There was plenty of time in the scorching hot, sunny weather for fellowship, food to eat, games to play, a prize drawing, music and to just relax in the shade.

There was an overabundance of food to be eaten. Hundreds of burgers and hot dogs were freshly grilled by dedicated cooks who withstood the heat to provide the entrée. Tables loaded with side dishes and desserts provided the opportunity for hungry churchgoers to stack their plates. Potato and macaroni salad, bean salad, rice, fruit and veggies were some of the side dishes. Desserts included Jell-O, cake, cupcakes, brownies, cookies and ice cream.

After satisfying their appetites the young and old were off to play. Children enjoyed water balloon games and relay races for prizes. The teens and young adults faced off in a friendly game of volleyball. There was also corn hole for the adults and anyone else who wanted to play.

Thanks to all the volunteers who helped to make the picnic a success. Enjoy the rest of summer and stay tuned to this website for more gatherings this year. In case you missed out on this event, there are more to come!
